Blue Shawl Vest

I never met a layer I didn’t love. And just because fall is over doesn’t mean you have to put those layers away. Arguably, winter is an even better time for layering — especially when the cold temperatures hit, it becomes a necessity!

Shawl/Vest: lou lou boutique {similar style HERE, similar color HERE} | Turtleneck: Halogen via Nordstrom {great staple piece, available in several colors} | Leggings: Zella | Earrings: BaubleBar | Ring: David Yurman | Watch: MICHELE | Bag: Chanel, buy it pre-owned HERE | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Ankle Boots: DSW {similar & on sale HERE} | Lipstick: #47

A convertible shawl/vest layered over a turtleneck and leggings is my idea of the perfect layered winter look. Although, I can’t take credit for finding this fabulous vest {I’m wearing it as the longer style here, but if you flip it around, it can be shorter too!}. The credit goes to my sweet cousin and his fiance for picking out the perfect Christmas gift. I love the draped front and this blue-ish grey color, which has winter’s name written all over it. When I reverse the vest to wear it in the shorter style, I will be sure it’s a sunny day so you can see the color better.

In other news, you might have seen my post on Snapchat {rach.mccarthy7} a few weeks ago about an unfortunate incident I had with a deer on my way home from work. I am so happy that I finally got my car back after some extensive repairs and it’s as good as new. With snow in the forecast for tomorrow, there was no way I was taking the rental car for a spin…quite literally! I’m so happy to be back in my SUV!

Any fun plans for the first full weekend of 2017? I’m secretly excited for the first potential snowfall of the year, as long as it starts once I’m home for the night! See you back here on Monday!

  1. Oh no, so sorry about the deer, I have been there and it's a little scary, I thought the deer went into a million pieces but it was my car, lol. LOVE this vest and reversible…YES!!!

  2. Ugh! Deer always scare me, especially when I see one on the side of the road staring at me while I'm driving!! Glad you are ok! This blue vest looks sooo soft and cozy! It also looks great with this all black look!
