Casual Weekend Cardigan

Today’s look may have you thinking it’s March or April, but in real life, it’s freezing today! If you caught yesterday’s post, you already know that I am dressing for the weather and that means 70s one day and 30s the next. Needless to say, this was a warmer day and I had planned on saving this post for a couple weeks down the road, but I couldn’t wait to share these sunglasses with you!

Cardigan: Halogen | Tee: BP., sold out {similar HERE}| Grey Jeans: old {almost identical HERE} | Lace Up Flats: Chinese Laundry {under $60 & available in several colors!} | Sunglasses: Le Specs {under $60!} | Earrings: Panacea, sold out {similar HERE & only $14!} | Bag: Chanel, buy it pre-owned HERE {similar style under $300 HERE} | Ring: David Yurman | Watch: MICHELE | Lipstick: #10 & turkish delight

I understand that I probably have waaaay too many pairs of sunglasses, but it’s one accessory I just can’t get enough of. I had been searching for {another} pair of cat eye frames when I stumbled upon THESE a few weeks ago. I fell in love with them because of the different spin on the classic cat eye shape: the cut out detail offers a more angled frame, making them bold statement glasses. While these look like designer shades with a $300 or $400 price tag, they are actually under $60! Needless to say I couldn’t pass them up.

Now to the cardigan. You may remember this cardigan from a couple weeks ago when I attached the faux fur stole for a cozy winter look {post HERE}. I can’t rave enough about this cardigan: the linen blend will be the perfect weight for heading into spring and the long style with patch pockets makes it ideal for layering. Also, it’s available in several colors {I actually bought a few!} and under $70

You may have noticed that I have been carrying this bag a lot lately. My husband bought it for me as a wedding gift almost 6 years ago {!!!} and gave it to me at our rehearsal dinner. When he first gave it to me, I didn’t carry it too much because I was afraid I was going to ruin it! I’m trying to carry it more now because a bag is meant to be used! Sorry for the bag on repeat, I want to carry it as much as I can before the temperatures warm up for good and it’s time to break out the bright colors!

I hope you all have a great weekend! We are headed into DC for dinner on Saturday evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early. We hardly ever eat out, especially in DC, so I’m pretty excited for a night out on the town! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’d love to hear in the comments section below. See you back here on Monday, friends!

  2. We're celebrating Valentine's early, too- something about celebrating on a Tuesday doesn't feel right, haha. We'll probably spend the evening lifting at the gym!

Love this outfit, lady- polished but casual. And those lace-ups are awesome!

  3. This is definitely a perfect outfit to transition into spring. We've had spring-like weather all week, but next week we are supposed to have snow. Crazy!
Loving those sunnies and how sweet of your husband to gift you that bag! Have a good weekend celebrating Valentine's Day!

  4. I love that you're wearing this bag often! It's more practical to have a bag that you can use and wear often and shows your readers that if they were considering it, they'd be sure to get plenty of use out of it with all the outfit inspirations you've been sharing! The weather is so crazy, isn't it!? It was in the 60s on Wednesday and then yesterday we got slammed with a snowstorm, so weird. Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead, beauty!

    XO,
